What We Do

The Lorain Soil & Water Conservation District provides technical assistance to individuals, groups and units of government in Lorain County for the management of natural resources including soil, water, forest and other related issues.


Technical Programs

Planning and survey design for conservation practices such as waterways, filter strips, wetlands, erosion control structures, animal waster systems, composting facilities, fertilizer and chemical storage facilities

Subdivision reviews in unincorporated areas

Landowner drainage site reviews

The District has various items available for purchase, including bird feeders, bluebird and wren houses, bat boxes, Lorain County Soil Survey CD’s, USGS Topographic and National Wetland Inventory Maps, pond management books, landscape plant identification books.
